Native American Program Group

PHOENIX - The Episcopal Diocese of Arizona celebrated the life of The Rev. David Pendleton Oakerhater, the first Native American deacon of the Episcopal Church, on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Trinity Cathedral, Phoenix. Oakerhater was a member of the southern Cheyenne tribe in Oklahoma.
